Free Public Libraries in Abu Dhabi

Are you looking for libraries in Abu Dhabi?

Are you the kind of person who is continuously exploring different data and books to study and expand your knowledge? The capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi, offers a variety of public libraries to their residents. Do you care about the historical, cultural experience and academic learning? Do you seek a quality of information to aid you in your daily life? If the answer is yes, then this blog was written for you to make your experience easier. Due to the values that the UAE holds toward education and wisdom, libraries have great importance. Abu Dhabi’s government never failed to emphasize the importance of knowledge. Therefore, they provided the public with a diversity of libraries, focusing on education, history, children’s development, and international and national data.

Qasr Al Watan Library – The biggest branch from the former cultural foundation library

Ever wanted to experience a classical library’s atmosphere, but with a touch of presidential vibe? Have you craved to seek knowledge, but in a royalty setting? Among the libraries in Abu Dhabi that can’t be missed is Qasr Al Watan, translated as the nation’s palace, allows scholars to enjoy exploring and deepening their understanding in a prestigious place. Ever since 2019, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, the UAE president, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, crown prince of Abu Dhabi, decided that the palace should be a place where national treasures, books, be permitted to the public.

The atmosphere of the public library:

As you walk past the main doors of the library, the enormous tall walls catch your sight. The giant chandelier from the top of the roof is dropped all the way down, making the entrance look very appealing. Divided into rooms, the ground floor has collections of regional and cultural books showcasing the UAE and the Arab world, highlighting Arab scientists’ achievements and legacies. You can smell the aura of knowledge with the pleasant overpowering smell of old books. The ground floor includes rooms filled with Arabic novels, for people who want to break away from reality and sink in another world. Also, for people who like to study math or mathematics fans, there are many collections of economics and statistics books. Entering the elevator and going up to the first floor, you will immediately notice the detailed French architectural notion. The rooms are interconnected, giving you the excitement of a kid beautifully lost in an educational maze. My favorite place is the mini room on the first floor, where it serves as a mini-library. There, many educational workshops are hosted. The library has unique rooms devoted to English novels, IT, medicine, and almost all the topics you have in your mind.

Located near the Emirate palace and corniche of Abu Dhabi, the library is found in the heart of the biggest UAE emirate, Abu Dhabi. The library welcomes all types of learners, from children to elderlies. There is no admission fee, as the library is free for the public. Yet, to borrow some books, the person must become a member of Qasr Al Watan library.
