Located in umm al Emarat park, Abu Dhabi, Home Bakery offers a delightful array of homemade pastries, from cakes to cookies. During my visit, I was captivated by their famous Chewy Melt Cookies.

Despite arriving on a busy Monday afternoon, I found many items sold out due to the lunch rush. Nevertheless, I enjoyed a Cheese Croissant and Soft Bake Cookies from their winter menu, priced at 27 and 42 dirhams respectively. The wait for my order was worthwhile as each bite was freshly made and delicious.

With indoor and outdoor seating, Home Bakery provides a cozy atmosphere to enjoy your treats. The prices are reasonable, similar to other coffee shops in Abu Dhabi. My total bill came to 92 dirhams for a satisfying experience.

Finally, I would suggest going in the morning before lunchtime or give them a call if you want something specific from the bakery.

OSK Croissanterie Café is a bakery that specialises in freshly baked croissants. Its location is in Al Bateen, specifically in Al Quffal street, in the centre of Abu Dhabi. OSK coffee shop is surrounded by glass windows to gather sunlight in the mornings, making it have a very pleasant environment to be in, with plants to add liveliness to the place. Comfortable chairs are scattered around the store with tables to welcome its customers to enjoy their special food and beverages. It also, being called a café, provides coffee as well as non-coffee drinks, uniting both baked goods and beverages. They offer breakfast items that include their famous croissants with different spreads or sides that create a well-rounded, delicious morning meal. These meals are priced very fairly that range from 40 dhs-55 dhs. You can also enjoy OSK’s croissants at any time of the day between 7am-11pm. This is one of the top 6 bakeries that me and my team choose. It’s called TryKayu, it has 4 different locations and one of the branches is located in abu dhabi, galleria mall. They specialise in French desserts created every day using only natural ingredients, on demand and personalised. There is seating at this location. The most popular seating designs in cafes are individual tables and chairs, which are low sofas and single chairs and offer customers to enjoy eating and have coffee in a quiet environment. Regarding the price it is reasonable you pay for what you get from food to full experience. At the place the average price for two people is 85 for coffee and pastries. At Kayu, you won’t have to wait around for very long to get outstanding, freshly baked pastries and desserts because they serve food quickly.

This experience lends a new touch to the bakery’s older styles charm by immersing customers in the art of pastry-making. Kubza Bakery ensures accessibility through food delivery programs, responding to the needs of its devoted consumers.

Despite their unavailability of seating, the bustling parking lot full of Talabat delivery drivers demonstrates Kubza Bakery’s enormous popularity and great demand for online orders. Kubza Bakery stands out as the go-to destination for breakfast and parties due to its excellent balance of quality and affordability, as well as its practical gathering boxes.

Brot The German Bakery

Brot Bakery is known to be one of the best bakeries in Abu Dhabi, they are known for their freshly baked goods. Their daily selection of freshly baked desserts, bagels and breads provides options for all taste buds. Their price range per person varies from 30-50dh. It is perfectly located in Al Reem Island in a small community mall called Shams Boutik, amongst many apartment buildings making it a go to stop for locals in that area. It’s also located  next to a grocery which makes it easy to pick up freshly baked goods after your weekly grocery trips. 

They also offer freshly brewed coffee and a humble sitting area for a quick grab and go or a place to sit and catch up with a friend. Being located in a quiet almost suburban area creates a cozy and calm feel to the place. Another reason Brot Bakery stands out to many is in regards is the taste and experience they offer. Since Brot is a German Bakery they use unique ingredients when producing their breads. They use an ingredient called Rye instead of wheat or flour, which characterises their breads as more sour and more digestible and overall make them more flavorful.

Accessibility

Reem mall was welcoming to all. Wheelchair users and stroller users found it easy to enter the mall because there were ramps instead of stairs. Elevators were available for people who were unable to use the stairs. People with vision impairments could navigate the area because the signage was easy to see and included pictures and large letters. There were spots in the parking lot for people with disabilities, and they were close to the entrance, making it reachable. However, during our first visit, we found it a bit tricky and unclear, so we got lost briefly, but this is understandable. Inside the Reem mall, benches and resting spots were distributed throughout, which was useful for older individuals or anyone in need of a break. Additionally, large accessible restrooms with handrails were provided.Generally, I think the mall did a great job making sure that nobody would have to deal with any difficulties to enjoy the experience of shopping. 

Amenities

Reem Mall is one of Abu Dhabi’s largest malls. Therefore, it requires a variety of amenities such as restrooms, prayer rooms, and children’s changing areas. Based on our observations, Reem Mall has more than enough amenities that are very clean and smell nice. The restrooms are gender-segregated and large, with ring lights in the mirrors. Some of the nice touches we saw included the children’s sinks, the sensor-controlled soap dispensers, water dispensers, hand dryers, and a seating place for people waiting in the restroom.

Aside from the toilets, there are areas where moms may nurse their children, change, wash, and clean them. These rooms are clean and very accommodating for moms. We also support providing similar rooms for dads so they can care for their children as well.

Reem Mall has only two Prayer rooms, one for men and the other for females. The female prayer room is on level two, and the male prayer room is on level three. Compared to the size of the mall, two prayer rooms wouldn’t be enough and if the mall got crowded the prayer room wouldn’t handle the amount of people. Besides that the prayer room is big in size, it smells wonderful and it’s super clean. There is a camera in the prayer room, for the people that wear hijab this can be a big deal because they don’t know who’s monitoring the camera and they will not be comfortable to fix their hijab or move comfortably. Compared to the size of the large prayer hall, there are few ablution sinks, which could be crowded if there is a crowd at prayer time. Before entering the prayer room there is a place to put your footwear in them. It is really well-designed and organized. 

Atmosphere

Entering Reem Mall is like stepping into a bright, fresh new universe. A feeling of freedom and relaxation is created by the spacious layout and the numerous windows. You may stroll around the aisles at your own pace and take in the natural light that comes in from every angle. In addition to providing light, the windows provide views of the exterior, which heightens the room’s feeling of openness to the outside world. All things considered, Reem Mall is a pleasant escape for anybody looking for a relaxed walk or a casual shopping experience in a refreshing setting.

Reem Mall offered everything from innovative home appliances and entertainment systems to the latest smartphones and trendy laptops. We were blown away with the wide selection of technological gadgets that suited every need and preferences, and we were eager to introduce other tech lovers to Reem Mall. For individuals looking for the newest and greatest in tech advances, Reem Mall is definitely a must-visit location due to its wide and diversified selection of tech sellers.

Range of Dining Establishments at Reem Mall

Reem Mall has a relatively small selection of food establishments organized into three categories: restaurants, cafés, and fast-food outlets. There are three restaurants (Paul, Wagamama, & Café Bateel), three fast food outlets (McDonald’s, Papa John’s, & Subway), and six cafes (Caribou Coffee, Tim Hortons, La Perle Sweets, Gelato Divino, La Zona Cafe, and Chatime). Given the mall’s size and the diversity of its visitors, we believe the number of food outlets and variety is quite limited. To fulfill the customers’ needs, the mall has to provide more dining outlets, a broader range of cuisines, and more affordable options.

Experience and Taste of Food

During our visit to Reem Mall, we tried three different outlets. Here’s a review of our experience at each one, along with a few details to help you plan your visit:

La Perle Café

La Perle Cafe offers a selection of savory and sweet pastries, desserts, and drinks, both hot and cold. They additionally serve afternoon tea, which you can enjoy alongside a stand packed with delicious mini sandwiches and sweet treats. Our experience at the café was fantastic. The ambiance is lovely, the place is picture-perfect, and the staff are warm and welcoming. To give you a better idea of how their food is, we tasted a small piece of Nutella mousse cake from their special Valentine’s menu. The cake cost AED 29. Although it was a little pricey compared to its size, it looked great and was delicious. We highly recommend visiting their branch at Reem Mall and sharing their delectable goods with your loved ones or significant other.

Tim Hortons

“Tim Hortons” serves the most flavorful selection of donuts, excellent coffee, and a variety of sandwiches and wraps. Tim Hortons has two locations in Reem Mall: a stand near Carrefour and the primary branch across from Paul Cafe. The main branch, which we visited, was spacious, cozy, and inviting. We sampled half a dozen donuts, which cost us AED 54. The price was reasonable, the staff was accommodating, the donuts were excellent, and the order was ready in under three minutes. Visit Tim Hortons Reem Mall for tasty donuts and family-friendly food options. Be sure to try their Nutella donut the next time you go (but be aware of dietary restrictions).

Wagamama

Wagamama is a Japanese-Asian restaurant known for its delicious Asian cuisine options. This popular food chain has a medium-sized branch in Reem Mall, with an inviting atmosphere and outstanding customer service. We began our gourmet excursion at Wagamama with their delicious beef barbecue bao, which satisfied us with its great flavor. We then enjoyed their delicious chicken katsu, with nicely cooked rice and a well-seasoned side salad, and ended our meal with the delightful rose cloudy lemonade. The lemonade was delicious, yet we only recommend it to those who enjoy the rose flavor. If you plan to grab lunch or dinner in Reem Mall pass by Wagamama, enjoy their delightful family-friendly meals, and take advantage of the offers on the Wagamama app.

Ambiance and Atmosphere of The Food Court 

We found the ambiance and atmosphere of the dining area at Reem mall to be pleasant but small, with a limited selection of restaurants and a limited number of seating tables. While the food court has a play area for children, which is a plus, we believe there is still potential for improvement to meet the guests’ needs.

Snow Abu Dhabi

Reem Mall’s Snow Abu Dhabi’s snow park is the first in the Emirati capital and the largest worldwide. In this snowy wonderland, you can snowboard, ski, go on rides, or have fun in the snow with your loved ones. We went to the park, and it was freezing inside. The staff was incredibly kind, and we did not have to wait long to get the tickets, pay, and enter. We spent around four hours inside and had a great time. Inside Snow Abu Dhabi , you will find The Lodge restaurant, Enchanted café, a hot chocolate stand, and a souvenir store. If you do not mind crowds, visit on weekends; however, if you want to experience the location on your own, go in the morning during the week. It is a unique place that you should take your family and friends to enjoy.

 

 

 Vox Cinema

If you are in the mood for movies, Vox Cinema at Reem Mall Abu Dhabi is the place to be. They have state-of-the-art theaters with comfy seats and a wide selection of movies to choose from. It is a great spot to catch the latest movies and enjoy a cinematic experience. We found that the showtimes at Vox Cinema Reem Mall are limited and mainly run from the afternoon to the evening, with very few morning screenings, so check their website before visiting.

Orange wheels 

For the little ones, there’s Orange Wheels, an indoor play area with tons of activities. They have slides, climbing structures, and even a trampoline park. It’s a perfect place for kids to burn off some energy. Orange Wheels charges AED 115 for a two-hour session, with additional hours costing AED 50 each, which is a bit pricey to us. Nevertheless, It is an ideal spot to take your kids if you want them to have fun in a safe environment.

CUBE Challenges

If you are up for a challenge, Cube Ultimate Challenge offers exciting escape rooms. People can test their skills, solve puzzles, and try to escape within a set time limit. It’s a thrilling and immersive experience. All guests to the Cube Challenge must wear sneakers. Also, children ages eight to eleven must be accompanied by at least one adult, and children under eight years are not permitted inside.

Finally, whether you’re looking for snowy adventures, movie magic, kid-friendly fun, or thrilling challenges, Reem mall has got you covered. Have a fantastic time exploring all the entertainment options there. These entertainment options at Reem Mall Abu Dhabi ensure that visitors have a memorable and enjoyable experience. Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or family fun, the mall has something to offer for everyone.

 

Cleanliness Overall

You can see Reem Mall’s dedication to cleanliness as soon as you walk in. There are employees wherever you turn who are working hard to keep the surroundings spotless. Their presence gives me comfort in knowing that the mall is in good hands. Every area has been carefully maintained, including the mosque and restrooms, which are examples of the facilities’ impeccable care. It is evidence of the mall’s commitment to giving guests a clean, comfortable atmosphere and making sure that everyone who enters has a good visit.

 

Overall Experience: Worth a visit? Or skip it?

Reem Mall Abu Dhabi offers a pleasurable experience all around. It has several facilities, including prayer rooms, kind staff, and spotless restrooms. However, better signage inside the parking areas would help avoid misunderstanding. Even if not all of the shops and restaurants have opened yet, guests may still have a fun day shopping and enjoying a variety of dining and entertainment options. Located in the centre of Abu Dhabi, beneath the ancient walls of the famous citadel, we visited  a bustling bazaar known as the Qasr Al Hosn traditional clothing souk. Al Hosn is the place where visitors are taken back in time to see the customs of Emirati clothing amid the old architecture and rich cultural legacy. As we walked through Al Hosn’s souk it has a hive of activity where stalls selling an appealing variety of traditional clothes and accessories are arranged along tiny lanes. A captivating and memorable environment is created by the fragrant fragrances of oud and spices filling the air.Visitors are welcomed to Qasr Al Hosn by an array of colours and textures as they make their way through the maze of stalls; each item narrates a tale of skill and tradition.

Clothes

As we visited Al Hosn souk  they provide a wide range of clothing options that perfectly reflect Emirati culture, from gorgeously embroidered jalabiyas to tastefully draped abayas. Craftspeople create timeless and modern products by deftly fusing traditional methods with modern design. As we went through the shop that is called Zehbat Al Areas it  is one of the souk’s highlights and a popular spot in Al Hosn for aspiring brides looking for gorgeous bridal gowns. Here, brides may choose from a stunning assortment of gowns that are all carefully handmade with wonderful details and luxurious fabrics. Next to that , we visited the store that is called The Husain Abu Haleeqa stores, which are close by, and provide a wide range of handcrafted clothing, ranging from flowing robes to elaborately woven fabrics, each of which is a tribute to the region’s rich cultural legacy. A must-visit location in Qasr Al Hosn for guys looking for traditional clothing with a contemporary touch is Rufan guys Boutique. The captivating scent of bakhoor, an ancient incense that is highly valued in Arabian culture for its capacity to purify the air and foster a calm, welcoming atmosphere, perfectly complements the allure of oud. As we went to Qasr Al Hosn, the lingering scent of bakhoor invited us to partake in the timeless rituals of hospitality and camaraderie. Perfumes, with their diverse and captivating compositions, further enhance the olfactory tapestry of Qasr Al Hosn, inspired by the rich heritage and natural landscapes of the Arabian Peninsula. the perfumers craft fragrances that pay homage to the region’s traditions while embracing contemporary sensibilities, weaving together elements of history, culture, and emotion. Qasr Al Hosn inspires jewellery that reflects the essence of Emirati culture and craftsmanship, ranging from intricately engraved bracelets that echo the filigree work of the palace gates to necklaces decorated with gemstones that reflect the colours of the desert landscape. During our visit to the “Beit Beit” pavilion in Qasr Al Hosn, sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Children’s Library, we saw the children’s visitors enjoying the world of creativity that is not restricted by the digital age. This immersive experience invites children to enjoy exploring imaginative worlds that predate modern technology. This experience gives children the opportunity to create new memories by designing dolls through which they express their culture and heritage, while spending family time. The section also included a pillow fort area, a toy store, and an antique doll gallery, where dolls and dollhouses were made.

When we had the opportunity to visit the “Children’s Art Center,” we were fascinated to witness how children are encouraged to embark on an enchanting journey through time. The centre serves as a catalyst for young individuals, igniting their creativity as they delve into the task of designing their miniature classic televisions. Drawing inspiration from the ancient cultural heritage of Qasr Al Hosn, participants are warmly invited to delve into the annals of history, handpicking cherished memories from the past to weave into their creations. With skillful hands and boundless imagination, they craft custom reels to adorn the screens of these nostalgic TVs. It’s truly a joy to see these young minds infuse their unique perspectives into each piece. What is Na’ashat ?

Na’ashat: is a dance for young girls with their long hair and moving gracefully to cheerful songs. The entire show was a delightful blend of elegance and joy. It’s a must-see for anyone looking to be enchanted by the beauty of traditional dance.

What is Yowla?

Al Yowla: is a dance for men and young boys performing intricate moves with sticks. It was so interesting to watch. It wasn’t just a regular dance; it was a cultural performance that made me appreciate the traditions of the region.

What is Taghrooda?

Taghrooda: It was a group of men with their camels, singing and saying poems as they walked around. The show was interesting because it reminded us of how people used to travel from one place to another in the old times.The men and their camels made the festival feel more real and meaningful.

What is Al Ayala?

Al Ayala: is a group of around 20 men dancing using a bamboo stick and moving together to the beat of the music.It was one of the best shows in the festival. We enjoyed it the most.The energy and rhythm of the song added to the excitement. We appreciated learning about this unique dance form. It was not just entertaining; it also gave us a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Stepping into the festival, we were captivated by the mix of music. When we watched our traditional shows, we felt really happy and proud. This makes us different from other countries because we have a special kind of dance that is unique and stands out. In the first section, Hasan Busbir, a dedicated enthusiast, showcased his prized collection of antique clocks, watches, medical instruments, and even technological marvels. Abdullatif Alseiari’s section enthralled visitors with diverse ‘Dallahs,’ the ornate coffee pots central to Emirati coffee rituals. Every Dallah, displayed meticulously at eye level, whispered stories of brewing Qahwa and Khaleeji coffee, staples of celebrations and everyday life.

Abdalla Al Our Alkaabi, a guardian of Emirati heritage, presented a mesmerising collection of traditional homeware. His focus was on ‘Zamzamiyat,’ metal bottles encased in felt, symbolising a mid-1950s societal shift with their beautiful designs becoming cherished family possessions. Meanwhile, Abdelrahman Al Haj transported visitors to Emirati households of the past with his collection of everyday items, electronics, and even vintage telephones, often showcased at various events.

The final exhibition showcased the evolution of Emirati currency, with coins minted from 1982 to 2023 displayed alongside Ahmed Alhasawi’s collection of diverse currencies and postage stamps. Each artefact whispered tales of economic progress and cultural exchange.Leaving the Antiques Exhibition, we carried with us not just memories of fascinating objects, but a deeper appreciation for the rich heritage and cultural pride that permeated the Qasr Al Hosn Festival. It was a journey through time, reminding me of the enduring spirit of Emirati traditions and the creativity that continues to shape its future.

Embracing Cultural Gems: Henna and Falconry at Qasr Al Hosn Festival

Craving a taste of Italy, we set sail for Dubai’s newest beach restaurant– Cala Vista at Jumeirah Mina A’Salam! Whispers of its stunning Burj Al arab beach location and authentic Italian fare had been swirling around, and let me tell you, the hype was real. Stepping into Cala Vista felt like being transported to a cozy Italian square. Olive and lemon trees provided shade from the Dubai sun, while the open-air atmosphere instantly melted away our stress. But the true treasure? Snagging a table on the right side, practically nose-to-nose with the iconic Burj Al Arab. The view was simply jaw-dropping!

We ordered a variety of dishes, starting with the must-try fritto misto, a delightful explosion of flavors in every bite-sized piece of crispy seafood. For the main course, I savored the classic tortelloni, alla Norma, while my pizza-loving friend reveled in the giant, thin-crust orecchio di Elefante. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with fresh, authentic Italian flavors. And remember to save room for dessert! You simply can’t miss out on the tiramisu at Cala Vista. It’s a delicious finale to your Italian meal –layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone cheese. Trust us, you don’t want to miss it!

Our fantastic server patiently navigated us through the menu, offering excellent recommendations and ensuring our every need was met. The restaurant also boasts a wonderful selection of fruity drinks, perfect for quenching your thirst under the Dubai sun. By the end, we were thoroughly impressed. Despite the luxurious setting and exceptional cuisine, a meal at Cala Vista is surprisingly affordable, costing around 200-300 dirhams per person.

If you are looking for an indulging hot chocolate in Dubai, Said Dal 1923 is where you should be heading! They offer the most rich and delicious chocolate that originates from Italy. After expanding their business chain Said Dal 1923 now has opened in not only one, but two spots in Dubai! You can find it located in either City Walk, or Emirates Mall. Personally, we visited the Emirates Mall branch for this review, and the experience was delightful. 

They offer a series of hot beverages with a drizzle of overflown chocolate, being white chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate. We ordered a small mug of the hot chocolate; it was very small to look at but it was just right to replenish our taste buds with the artisan chocolates that they are selling. The hot chocolate was warm, and had the texture of silk, perfect for the winter weather. Additionally, the chocolate drizzle that it had all over supported the richness of the chocolate by adding supplementary flavour. Make sure you visit the Said Dal 1923 Dubai franchise’s Instagram page for more drooling images, and the menu!

Their menu boasts classic dark chocolate alongside inventive flavors like rose and cardamom. However, the Orange & Cinnamon Hot Chocolate steals the spotlight, offering a velvety blend of chocolate with zesty orange and warming cinnamon notes. This combination creates a symphony of flavors, balancing indulgence and comfort perfectly.

When we walked into Home Bakery at Galleria Mall, we felt cozy and welcomed right away. The place feels modern yet comfy, with soft lights, and the smell of fresh baking filling the air.  

Now, let’s talk about the star of the show – Home Bakery’s hot chocolate. We got our hot chocolate to go as the place was very crowded, and they had a lot of customers. We told the waitress that we were here seeking the best hot chocolate in Dubai, and she smiled confidently. She served the hot chocolate in a sturdy cup you can carry around, it’s like a little cup of happiness. With each sip, you taste the rich cocoa mixed perfectly with creamy milk and topped with marshmallows. It feels like a cozy moment, even when you’re on the move.

Vibrissae Cat Cafe might actually be one of the most aesthetic cafes in Dubai. Situated in two distinct areas of Dubai (Mirdif Hills and Al Wasl), the café offers a unique haven for both cat enthusiasts and coffee connoisseurs alike. Upon entering the café, I was greeted warmly by the staff and serenaded by the gentle purring of the resident cats.

PRICES PER PERSON: 50-200 AED

The ambiance was truly heartwarming, perfect for de-stressing and unwinding. With open windows enhancing its aesthetic charm, especially on a delightful, cloudy day, the café is thoughtfully designed, providing plentiful seating and space for both guests and resident cats. The menu consisted of different selections of beverages and snacks to satisfy anyone’s cravings.

Parents bringing young children should be aware that kids aged 3 to 12 must be accompanied by adults for safety purposes. The standard pass is 50 dirhams, going up to 200 dirhams if one wants to stay for an unlimited time. The cafe was a bit packed at the time I went, which was around 3pm. During my visit, I noticed many children cuddling and playing with the cats.

The cafe is located in a complex residence, meaning parking can get a bit tricky when it comes to how close you can park to the cafe. However, it compensates for the pretty view, and many options around the area. The cats in the cafe are more relaxed and chill, not preferring to run around as much. Guests are treated to complimentary snacks upon entering the cozy room, where furry friends eagerly await their company. All in all, the coffee was great, and the toy options and seating were accommodating to all.

One of the best cat cafes in Dubai I personally enjoyed the Ailuromania Cat Cafe the most. Known to be the first cat cafe in the country and the Middle East, it’s also one of the friendliest cats you’ll ever get the chance to cuddle.

The café offers 18 diverse cat breeds available for adoption at a fee of 700 dirhams for interested individuals.

PRICES PER PERSON: 30-39 AED

The cats are active and will want to jump around as you throw their toys around. With little steps all over the wall, they love to stare at you as you sip your choice of drink. At Ailuromania Cat Cafe, they’re open from 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM during the week, except Tuesdays. There are multiple options when it comes to entry fees in this cafe; they range from 30-39 dirhams, depending on the menu package.

Each guest is allowed a maximum stay of one hour. Speaking of the activities; this cafe provides plenty of activities that are open to kids and adults. Some of these activities included yoga with the cats, feeding the cats, taking Polaroid pictures with the cats, and reading novels with the cats! Just a heads up: Ailuromania Cat Cafe is located in a buzzing part of Jumeirah, Make sure to leave early to find some good parking near the area in case you are driving to the cafe. If you’re looking for a place to release some stress and enjoy a good cup of tea, Ailuromania is the place to go.

As I stepped into the Meowtropolis Cat Café, secluded from Dubai’s bustling center, I was welcomed by its warm and inviting atmosphere. A pleasant group of meows and purrs welcomed me as the local cats walked around.

Prices range from 50 AED to 250 AED per hour to an infinite number of hours per day. This place is family-friendly, so you may bring your children, who must be between the ages of 4 and 12.

Along with a variety of drinks, the café offers everything from refreshing teas to coffees. I enjoyed my tea while watching the cats play and curl up for a nap.
