A Guide to Sheikha Fatima Park

If you want a place where you can have fun, chill, experience, and eat at the same time, then Sheikha Fatima Park will be the place for you. It is located in Abu Dhabi, Al Bateen.

The park has been recently renovated and reopened to the public. It’s named after Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the wife of the late Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan the first ruler of the UAE.

It is the perfect place to be called a family park because of its facilities such as the skate park and dog park. The skate park is a great place for kids and adults to be active and show off their skating moves.

Close to the skating area is the fenced dog park which offers dogs some games to play and an area to run freely. It opens every day from 6 AM till 11 AM. The park limits only 5 dogs at a time because of the size of the park. Owners are responsible for the dogs and their waste. Additionally, drinks and smoking are prohibited in the pet park for the dog’s safety.

Other than the skate and pet park, a playground is available for kids to play. There is even an area called Splash Pad where children can play with water. The park is wide enough for people to go on walks or run. Also, there are empty grassy areas for families to have a picnic. For those who are into cycling, a bike shop is available called Momentum Cycles.

Many restaurants in the park offer food that suits people’s different preferences. Read below for an in-depth review of the restaurants.

For Chocolate lovers, Chocolate Republic in Sheikha Fatima Park is the best place to land on. They have an amazingly designed menu divided into four categories which are the main courses, desserts, breakfast, and drinks. The colors and interior inside the café are just irresistible to photography lovers and one can collect loads of memories with friends and families into pictures.

They are known for their delicious lava cake and the um ali, which we recommend to sweet lovers. The lava cake is rich with the flavor of chocolate and the ice cream above is just a perfect match for it. The um ali they have is the classic and traditional um ali people have always liked. Their prices are very good and worth the quality and quantity of each plate.

The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, and the interior design is rare and unique. The inspiration behind the design is UAE traditions. They showed UAE’s old heritage in a modern way in their packaging and menu. Also, they created the biggest indoor painting in Abu Dhabi which shows a scene from some traditional Emirati activities as a sign of respect and gratitude.

The food is delicious and we recommend you try their hot chocolate even in the summer season because it’s two layers of cold and hot chocolate that causes your taste buds to blow from the amazingness. Furthermore, the service is really good and fast, the staff is very friendly and pleasant. The decor shows that it’s a gaming cafe since it is filled with board games while the environment is engaging and amusing because all you hear is people talking, laughing, and screaming out of joy. They are open from 2 PM till 1 AM on weekdays and from 12 PM till 2 AM on weekends. They will serve breakfast very soon.

For coffee, other drinks, and even food, Le Patchouli will be a perfect choice, which is located at the entrance part of Sheikha Fatima Park. If you like food full of flavor, something warm, something chocolaty, or something really fresh, then you should just rush to this place. Amazingly, they have many options on the menu at nice prices. Some of the options that they are known for are many kinds of coffee like espresso, americano, cappuccino, café latte, piccolo, cortado, and others. The staff would recommend their chicken bao and stuffed mushroom for lunch and they are not wrong for recommending them. The quality of the food is so good and we think everyone agrees that they have the best acai bowls.

If you want to get into shape, the park provides a fitness facility called Crank:
