The Makers Guild’s variety gives it its uniqueness; for, they offer an array of handmade, sustainable, and special gifts ranging from clothing to jewellery to postcards and so much more. At this point, you’re probably thinking that this is just another typical gift shop in Dubai, there is nothing unique about it. However, I am here to convince you otherwise.
For starters, all of the products sold at The Makers Guild are sustainable, which means that they are not harmful to the environment; contrary to most of the products offered in other stores. And surely, you would opt for something sustainable, rather than feeding into pollution and harming the environment. In addition to that, their products are handmade assuring you great quality. These reasons should be efficient enough to convince you that you are spending money on things that are not only eco-friendly but also made with love, which definitely makes it worth the buy!
And finally, many of the products that are displayed at The Makers Guild are typically inspired by the beautiful Emirati culture, which makes it a lovely gift option for friends and family who are living abroad or coming to visit as it gives them a fun and unique glimpse into our culture. Some products that really caught my eye were all the UAE-themed posters and magnets that capture all the iconic landmarks and destinations. As well as the little card games that were influenced by the Emirati Culture.

The Jumeirah Mosque, located in the heart of Dubai, is part of an organization called “The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding.” They offer a twice-daily Mosque visit and various other programs where your Emirati host will explain the local culture, religion, and traditions.
Tucked away in the Majlis of the Jumeirah Mosque is a unique gift shop offering amazing handmade and unique gifts. There is a full range of products, from postcards and fridge magnets to artwork, books, and jewellery. The majority of the items in the gift shop have either a cultural or Dubai-inspired theme related to them. All the products in the store appear to have been carefully curated and handpicked, meaning there will always be something for everyone to take home with them
One of my favourite products I fell in love with was a cute keychain of a little Arabic boy in his white kandora with ghutra and agal. Apart from the ring, the keychain is 100% made from leather. I also noticed a magnet with the same design. Something else that caught my attention was artwork from Dubai-based artist Quentin Desmit. He has a range of Dubai skyline prints – framed and unframed. He has cleverly captured all of the iconic landmarks of Dubai in his pictures. These items would make great gifts for anyone visiting Dubai or residents looking for unique gifts. This is the first time I have seen these products in other gift shops around Dubai.

Ode’rose is a Lebanese specialty gift shop that sells unique items and offers a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. It is known to be one of the best personalised gift shops in Dubai. Its products range from jewelry, to fashion pieces, and home accessories. In our experience strolling the store, we found many interesting statement pieces handmade by local and foreign businesses. Besides that, its location in Al Wasl is prime seeing as it is very near to many tourist attractions and close to many residential areas; thence, it is easily accessible. Furthermore, something in particular that we loved was the option for customizable items. From clothes to cushions, you can have your selected piece embroidered with any name you like. We are sure many people would love to receive a gift personalised with their name on it!
On our trip there, we met the owner, a Lebanese woman named Nadine. She was very welcoming and stood behind the counter greeting all the customers. She explained that she loves to give every customer a memorable experience when they step into her gift shop, making them feel like they are shopping at their grandma’s house. That is why she makes time to come in every once in a while to meet them and stay up to date on what items they may like to be introduced to the store.
In a nutshell, Ode’rose is an excellent option for any tourist or resident looking for something special to gift a loved one. Some might say it is the best gift shop in Dubai; however, everyone who visits can agree, it does not disappoint with its variety and is undoubtedly an outstanding shopping experience that everybody can enjoy.
