From my personal experience at CLYMB, my sister and I took part in a five-day mini rock climbing course for beginners. We were ecstatic and couldn’t wait to participate as CLYMB dedicates a special day for ladies only, making us feel more comfortable. Another aspect that made our rock climbing An amazing one was our first impression of how the staff members treated us; they were all very friendly and had an overall enthusiastic and optimistic attitude. The team gave us the safety guidelines and taught us the fundamentals of climbing. It was really an amazing journey for both of us, and this is undoubtedly not going to be the last course we’re going to take part in.

Horse riding at Al Forsan
Horse riding is an activity for all ages, it can be enjoyed as a group indoor activity but also individually. Al Forsan Equestrian Centre offers horse riding classes indoors all year round, which can be of benefit since AbuDhabi gets really warm in the summertime.
Al Forsan is located in Khalifa city A, Al Forsan village. It operates from Saturday to Thursday, 8:00am to 11:00am, and 4:00pm to 8:00am. They offer horse riding activities up to many levels whether you are beginner, intermediate or advanced. Also, they consider if you prefer private lessons or group lessons, so many different options to fit your preference. They also offer pony rides for kids starting from the age of 3, so families can break their routine with unique family indoor activities.
Al Forsan Equestrian Centre gives the option of having ladies-only classes for women to feel comfortable. Their website has all the information needed to know everything from booking to offers and promotions. Also, you can book your experiences online ahead of time.
Tips
- When attending a horse riding class, you will have to wear specific attire which includes long pants, a horse riding helmet, and closed shoes. The riding instructors will provide a helmet and a vest if you don’t have it.
- Make sure to be at the class at least 15 minutes early, to ensure you are prepared with horse riding equipment in time for class and so your experience goes smoothly with the horse of your choice.
Shooting range at Al Forsan
The shooting at Al Forsan International Sports Resort provides all levels of shooting, from a beginner’s shot to competitive professional shooting. The gun range operates daily from 02:00pm to 11:00pm. There is no specific attire to prepare you fully and enhance your ability to score higher, however, wearing a comfortable top to position your arms at a perfect angle to shoot won’t fail or disappoint you. Each person costs from 150 to 190 dirhams depending on the gun they chose to go with. They provide you with the option to easily book online. You can go with a group of friends, your corporate work team, your significant other, or your family as they allow up to 7 individuals to take part and shoot their shot. The employee at the reception will ask you for either your ID or passport for safety purposes, such as to make sure that your age is 16 years old or above. If you happen to be below 18 years old, a guardian must be present to accompany you. Also, they will ask you to fill out some papers in which they will proceed to take a photo of you as part of their procedures. Then they will guide you to an area where lockers are available to keep your belongings in. The indoor activity will allow you plenty of time to bond, be physically active and create memories since they book the place for 30 minutes to an hour for each group of individuals that enter the shooting range.
You’ll walk into the shooting range and immediately become aware of the loud gunshots but not to worry since they hand you headphones with safety glasses, however, in all honesty, you will still be able to hear the gunshots, and if it’s your first time going shooting, be ready to jump every time a bullet is shot even if you’re the one shooting it. The instructor will be with you guiding you through it if it’s your first time making sure to have it be an enjoyable time for you. Once you get your first middle of the target shot, you will feel that great sense of satisfaction and achievement. The best part about it is that they wrap the target paper for you to take back home as a monumental memory. You can take pictures of it to post on your social media; you can frame it and place it on your wall serving two purposes, decor and memorabilia.
Ice skating at Zayed Sports City
One would think that residents of the UAE would have to travel miles to experience snow-related activities. Such is not the case today; with indoor ice rink available around the country. One such must-visit ice rink is located at Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi. The ice rink is open throughout the week from 12:00pm to 5:00pm. On Thursdays, specifically, the rink is dominantly reserved for ladies only throughout the day with the last few hours in the evening open to everyone till 10:30pm. The indoor ice rink is massive, one would never feel as if they are at a crowded place due to its size. There is ample space for all visitors to enjoy the rink. The process of getting from the ticket counter to getting the skates and then on to the rink is absolutely smooth, in addition, the counter also provides keys for lockers if needed. The helpful and friendly staff is just a bonus. They greet you with enthusiasm and kindness which will increase your excitement to visit. The reception provides important instructions about the policies and the tour times for the visitors and doesn’t require you to provide an ID to enter. For regular sessions, visitors can book online, or book training lessons to become professional and skilled ice skaters, transforming you into a pro with their well-designed training packages. There is no specific dress code but visitors are encouraged to not wear long-flowing outfits such as long dresses. The indoor activity atmosphere guarantees to protect you from the raging heat outdoors; it definitely is a place to visit especially for those that want a quick getaway from year-round high temperatures that we are accustomed to. Visiting the ice rink was a great indoor experience that I would encourage others to try.
Bowling at Zayed Sports City
Bowling center is another indoor activity out there. It is easy to locate and access, as it is situated at Zayed Sports City, located between the Ice Rink and Tennis Centre. The facility is open throughout the week and operates from 12:00pm to 12:00am. A 40-lane bowling complex with multiple restaurants can host 100’s of people at any point in time. An amazingly designed venue that boosts your mood and spirits with the colorful theme and music. There are no restrictions on clothing, but it is advised not to wear clothing that has the potential to trip you. Also, the only footwear permitted on the aisles is those provided by the bowling center in order to avoid slipping on the surface while playing the game. The staff is attentive, professional and all rules and regulations were clearly laid out. There is guidance from the moment you enter the complex, the staff is well-trained and helpful till the point you reach your assigned bowling lane. What made the experience even more convenient was that you can book by bowling lane in advance to make the most use of your time. The lane will be ready for use; all that needs to be done is to get the bowling shoes and make your way to begin playing the game. Being one of the largest bowling centers in the country, it was indeed a great experience that I would recommend to others. For Anyone who is looking for an indoor activity or group indoor activity to enjoy with family and friends the bowling center is definitely recommended.
